Cover artwork may NOT display the following:
- Website URL
- Contact information (e-mail address, phone number, etc.)
- Pornographic images
- Copyrighted images
- Symbols of unconstitutional organizations (restricted by the Strafgesetzbuch Section 86A - for example, Nazi symbolism)
- Scan of a CD or disc artwork (must be retail-ready artwork)
- Tribute albums
- A tribute album's cover art must list the performing artist name as large as, or larger than, the original artist name.
- The word "Tribute" must appear as large as, or larger than, the original artist name.
- The performing artist's name cannot include the original artist name (for example - The Beatles Tribute Band)
- The album title should NOT start with the original artist name (for example - The Beatles: A Metal Tribute, etc) - however, the original artist name CAN appear later on in the album title (for example - Help: A Metal Tribute to the Beatles)
- The track titles cannot include references such as: "As Made Famous By...," "Originally Performed By…," "In the Style of…," etc.
- Extremely blurry or pixilated images
- References to physical packaging (“CD," "Disc," etc.)
- References to a digital product ("Digital Exclusive," "Digital Version," etc.)
- References to pricing ("Reduced Price," "Low Price," "Available for $9.99," "100% of Proceeds," etc.)
- References to a physical retailer ("Available at Target," "Walmart Edition," etc.)
- Promises content that the album does not contain (“Includes DVD,” “Includes Stickers,” "Includes Lyrics,"etc.)
- Up-sells to another product (merchandise, other albums by the same artist, etc.)
- Claims to be an exclusive album of one of the digital partners without their permission (includes the word "iTunes"
